SOA -Video History Project
Hosted by Dennis Cummings - SOA Archivist

Each year during the Memorial Day weekend I reflect on the losses that the Special Operations Community has suffered. The list continues to grow, not just from those on the front lines today, but those that the SOA loses each year. It seems that during the last 18 months we have lost more of our members than ever before. Each loss brings home the point that the video history project is doing important work as we strive to collect as much history of Special Operations as possible. Unfortunately, we are running a race against time, which is running out far too quickly. Your experiences are important to the project, your family and the history of Special Operations! Members of the SOA were trailblazers for those who would follow in their footsteps and it is crucial that we capture that history before it is gone forever. When we resume in person reunions, if you havent done an interview with us, please consider doing so.
WEBMASTER'S NOTE: THIS VIRTUAL REUNION PROVES THAT WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DEPEND ON ONE WEEK A YEAR TO COLLECT OUR HISTORY. WE CAN BE DOING THIS VIRTUALLY EVERY DAY. PERHAPS THE FUNDRAISING NEEDS TO BE AMPLIFIED IN ORDER TO EXPAND THIS PROJECT! SGS
This year fundraising for the video history project is at a new low due to the coronavirus and the social unrest being experienced across the country. People during these trying times are far less accessible than they had been in the past. Donations are needed to continue this work, so if you know of anyone who would like to help keep this project alive please let me know.
